Borgia
SYNOPSIS
In the 15th century, through intrigue, bribery, threats, and other crimes, the Spaniard Rodrigo Borgia became Pope Alexander VI, initiating one of the most controversial and distorted periods in the Catholic Church while holding the position of its highest representative (from 1492 to 1503).
Considered ""the most corrupt pope"" of all time, and his family described by Jodorowsky as ""the first mafia clan"" in human history, Rodrigo's thirst for absolute power fueled accusations of nepotism, the sale of ecclesiastical offices, fratricide, incest, poisoning, and political manipulation. The father's illicit practices eventually extended to other members of his family, particularly his children: Cesare, Lucrezia, Giovanni, and Geoffrey. In a world where the ""Word of God"" becomes an excuse for promoting unimaginable atrocities, who can stop a man who sits at the top of the world?
